Vote At PCAGOE For A Cane Today!

Wow-the vote is on and this is your chance to win something very nice made of polymer clay. All you have to do is vote on your favorite entrant! I'm in there also (hint-hint, Plumuniqprettiesplus, number 23). But of course, vote on your favorite!
It's a great chance to win something nice from one of our club members. In fact, there are three winners. So, go to PCAGOE.com and find out what you could win, and vote now! You have until the 7th of March, midnight Eastern time.
This month the topic is: Canes. What's a cane you ask? Well, a cane is usually round, but can be square, like mine was. It's built out of layers of clay all squished together. In fact some canes have several canes put into one. Mine does. That's called a "Complex Cane." For more information, you can Google up polymer clay canes and see what comes up! Well, go vote and,
Have fun!

Valentine's Day and A Comment On Some Things

I would just like to say first of all that I deeply appreciate those who comment-it tells me someone reads this at least! That's a good feeling.
Now to the day. Hope yours was great! I was surprised this morning with a big heart of candy. I love those on Valentine's Day. I honestly didn't expect it-just thought he'd buy something for our nine year old daughter. She got a smaller heart. Of course, I'll be sharing the large heart-that's a lot of candy! So, the day has been nice and pleasant. That and some blogging and dropping and playing with Tamara, my daughter.
Now to less pleasant things. I'm sure by now you have all heard about the poor little girl who has come up missing in Florida. Well, we've been watching Fox news and there was an interview with the mother and grandmother. The grandmother clearly thought there was a key involved with it being an "inside job." There was no sign of forced entry. I have no idea what happened. I just know it's sad, and my concern is for the child. Of course, I know the parents are grieving also. I wondered, "What could I do?" The only thing you and I can do is pray. Pray for the girl and the parents and family. Prayer changes things. We can pray for her safety, for her to be found, and for the family to somehow get through this tragedy. The same thing goes for the families of the plane crash victims in New York. When we can't do anything personally to help,
there is prayer. We don't need to know the names or faces, just that they are out there and need prayer. Well, that's it for now. Thanks for tuning in!

How Was Your Weekend-Ours Was Shocking!

Well, the Cardinals lost. Bummer, since I live in Tucson, AZ. We almost had it and they let their defense down at the last minute! Wow-that was some game, huh?
And what about Chuck in 3D tonight? Anyone else catch that? It was OK, but not all it was cracked up to be...one thing I object to is the sexual innuendos thrown in. We actually told our 9 yr. old daughter to turn her head when the two sexy women started depancing Chuck. The beginning was nothing too grand either, in his dream. Now, they know that kids will be watching, especially since they hyped it up with the 3D thing, and they put that stuff in. My question is: why? It's not necessary to keep viewers in my opinion. I just think that if good, concerned people would write NBC en masse, it might help. It has in the past-changed the way shows were written I mean. Who knows what good it might do? Anyway, that wasn't the worst of the weekend!
Here in Tucson, and other parts that I'm not sure about, where Comcast is, we had a surprise during the Superbowl-a rather nasty surprise. Literally. Either there was a glitch in the system or someone was out to prove him or herself worthy of a prize for hacking. The first time the picture froze and we got treated to movie credits for a minute or just under. The second time we got a real eyefull. A women was removing a man's pants-and they showed his entire private area-in full view no less! They used the correct word for it (pe...), but that didn't help. I immediately turned my daughter's head when she started pulling on his pants and plugged her ears when I heard that word, and just looked at her until my husband said it was over! What a shocker! On the news they said they were investigating what happened. Not good when you can't even watch the Superbowl and see something wierd like that happen. Wasn't there something shocking on the Superbowl a few years back though, involving a famous woman's clothing falling off her breast? I forgot who now, but geez, this is getting ridiculous! Of course, this was only on Comcast, as far as I know, but still...well enough of that.
Otherwise, how was your weekend?
Well, I found out that my thyroid is messed up again, which explains the sluggishness and tiredness all the time. One part shows high, while another part shows low, so my family doctor is sending me to an endicrinologist. Hopefully it won't take forever by time I get the referral and the appointment. It takes awhile to work once the dose is adjusted as it is, so it will be a few months before I'm back to normal at least.
In the meantime I just keep up with the house duties as I can and my blogging and dropping when I can. I really need to get back into crafting and claying and blogging about claying-it bothers me when I don't. I guess the thyroid aggravates the fibromyalgia and bipolar so it sets everything off schedule for me. Sounds rather like a poor excuse-I know people with far worse than I and they manage to do so much more. But I'm just me and I do what I can as I can.
Prayers are most coveted from those who pray and believe. For anyone who reads this blog, I apprecite it intensely. I will work on blogging more about claying and people in my clay group, etc. Thanks,
Pam
PS-A bright spot in the weekend (beside our eating out at Golden Corral which is a very rare treat for us). My husband brought home not one, but two, art sets. Nice ones that cost a bit. He works on apartments once people leave. If they leave things after a certain amount of time, it's his. Some people left these two kits. They're filled with art poster pens, colored pencils, oil pastels, and watercolor tubes of paints. MANY colors. I estimate between 80-100.00 for a kit at least. They're in wooden cases. I've always wanted a watercolor set like that and now I have one. My daughter got the other, like a late Christmas present. She was so thrilled!

Well-it's about time. Contest awards finally given! Leslie received 500 credits [http://www.uniquecharms.blogspot.com/]; Amy from Texas received 200 [http://www.livinglocurto.com/]; and Modern Mom [http://wondermom.info/] received 100 credits. I chose to give credits for the first place prize rather than the reindeer, as it is so late now into January.
I have discovered why I've been feeling down and out so much. My thyroid is abnormal, either low or high. This is historical for me-it has done this many times. I could be it went down too low for the meds again (I take levothyroxine for a low thyroid already), but the meds may not be enough, OR there may be TOO MUCH meds and a causing it to be high. Either way you feel super tired a lot and other things. I mean I barely get my basic housework done and it wears me out, and less of it.
I have an appointment with my primary on the 29th, soonest they had-so she'll fix the dosage, and it will take 4-8 weeks from there to feel "normal" again. How fun!
So, anyway, I'll try getting back into the swing of things with my claying here as soon as I can. I haven't even chatted to my clay group online in a few weeks or so, since before Christmas. It's sad. So, I must do that.
Well, take care everyone who reads this or not. Hope your holidays were great!
